"The Lord looks down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there are any who did understand, and who seek God" (Psalm 14:2).

There is nothing I would rather do than to spend my time with our Lord and hear Him whisper to me. I am His child. My thoughts are filled with love, understanding, and wisdom; so I can walk with Him all my life.

So many people do not realize how close God is to us and how He longs to hear from His children. In order to seek Him and find Him, we must take off our blindfolds and recognize that we are the ones that are far away, not God. God is never far. He is in every walk we take, every decision we make, every pain we go through, and every problem we need to solve. He is with us every time we long for love, peace, and hope.

Many human beings have lots of hope and wish to be able to enjoy life someday, to do something extraordinary, or to have the opportunity to get closer to God.

Taking time to look at everything around you; the sky, the trees, the birds, the water, your own body, etc., you will see God in everything and you will understand God's love for human beings.

"Be not deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life" (Galatians 6:7-8).

Most people never really take time to look and meditate. They find life so hectic and demanding at all times. They strive every single day to meet its demands.

Some people will serve God without spending time in conversation with Him and reading His words. They do not realize that they will never get anywhere, but will end up being self-satisfied from feeling righteous.

We need to realize that this is the act of Satan. He likes to keep us busy with too many matters in order to turn our back on God's plan for us and wonder if God even exists at all.

"Then He spoke a parable to them, saying: 'The ground of a certain rich man yielded plentifully. And he thought within himself, saying, 'What shall I do, since I have no room to store my crops?' So he said, 'I will do this: I will pull down my barns and build greater, and there I will store all my crops and my goods. And I will say to my soul, "Soul, you have many goods laid up for many years; take your ease; eat, drink, and be merry."' But God said to him, 'Fool! This night your soul will be required of you; then whose will those things be which you have provided?''" (Luke 12:16-20).

Do not allow this to happen to you! Do not allow Satan to prevail in your life!

To prepare the ground for future harvest, the farmer must prepare the soil by breaking up the ground, air it and clear any hard rocks and thorns around. Without taking time preparing, it will be difficult to grow anything good.

Likewise if your heart is filled with many thorns (such as resistance, ego, gossiping, or too occupied with many things...) transformation will not happen overnight. It will take time and planning; for it needs water and sunshine. Without preparing the heart to accept the word of God, it will be difficult to find a home for the Word to grow, root, sprout, flourish, and bear fruit.

"My soul longs, yes, even faints for the courts of the Lord; my heart and my flesh cry out for the living God" (Psalm 84:2).

How to prepare the heart and the soul?

  • Pray and ask God to cleanse your heart, for He is the only one who can do this
  • Repent your sins; allowing your troubled heart to be clear
  • Stay away from foolish acts that will distract you and drive you away from God
  • Gain desire and persistence to grow in your spiritual walk
  • Believe that the Holy Bible has all the answers you need
  • Commit to attend church regularly
  • Seek the Lord in everything you do
  • Let your joy come from being close to God
  • Find special time to pray, read the Holy Bible, and meditate

"The poor shall eat and be satisfied; those who seek Him will praise the Lord. Let your heart live forever! All the ends of the world shall remember and turn to the Lord, and all the families of the nations shall worship before You" (Psalm 22:26-27).

May you long for having an intimate relationship with God. Being aware of His presence at all times in your life, will make you see His hand in everything you do and recognize He is never far away.
