COLLEYVILLE, TX. April 9, 2014 -- With the grace of God, it gives us great pleasure to announce the start of a new hymnological seminary within the Southern Diocese, under the auspices of H.G. Bishop Youssef. The Asaph Hymns Institute is an online seminary is set to begin in August 2014 and is open to anyone in the world with a high school diploma or GED, promising to deliver the following:

  • Complete, exhaustive collection of all known and at-risk hymns for all seasons and services
  • Hymnological and liturgical history, contemporary rites, and theology
  • Coptic and Greek languages
  • Diaconate (i.e., historical and practical application of the rank)

All courses are to be instructed completely in English and conducted online with a new mobile-optimized site for easy access. An annual hymns convention in Titusville, FL led by Cantor Ibrahim Ayad to teach at-risk hymns is planned while annual tuition is $250/year, which includes the cost of the annual retreat!
