"Whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in me to stumble, it is better for him that a heavy millstone be hung around his neck and he be drowned in the depths of the sea" (Matthew 18:6).
A ten-year-old boy stood by the teachers desk, wringing the paper he had in his hands; the teacher looked at him and asked what troubled him. This young boy, whose name we will call Tom has been experiencing periodic episodes of violent outbursts, which caused a concern for his teacher. She knew that something very dramatic was occurring in his life to be causing these violent outbursts. Well, Miss, he stammered as he carefully and intensely wrung the paper he held within his hands, You know the cry of someone who is being killed? Tom uttered this so painfully, the movements of his eyes, as if he was seeing this event as he spoke. There was a sudden hush in the usually boisterous fifth grade classroom; all eyes and ears were attentive to what Tom was about to tell. Within the teachers heart she trembled at what was about to be revealed. Umm. he continued while grimacing his face with remembrance of the experience; there were these two young children, the forgotten ones~ he murmured.
The child continued to describe the grotesque, cold-blooded killing of two young innocent immigrant four-year children. The children were taken to a vacant lot, where they were tied down to a huge boulder, and ceremoniously, conducted by the uncle of the ten-year-old student, who was the head of the local satanic cult; one by one, had their hearts cut out. At first I couldnt look or bear to hear their screams, Toms eyes were fixed looking down, his heart was racing, ~ then, as if it was all over for him too, he said in a very sad bewildered voice, I just became used to it. He looked at his teacher with relief that he finally told this horrific experience.
The above story is true, it was painfully and fearfully told to a teacher in public school by a fifth grade student a few years ago.
In recounting the story I ask families of children who do they want to be;? The mother or father of the tortured and murdered children; of the young ten year old who was forced to watch, or of the young twenty one year old youth who was over taken with evil? I pray that the answer is ~ to none of the above. Could this incident have been prevented?
In the Holy Book of Deuteronomy 18.9-14 Our Lord says: "When you come into the land that the Lord your God is giving you, you must not learn to imitate the abhorrent practices of those nations. No one shall be found among you who makes a son or daughter pass through fire, or who practices divination, or is a soothsayer, or an augur, or a sorcerer, or one who casts spells, or who consults ghosts or spirits, or who seeks oracles from the dead. For whoever does these things is abhorrent to the Lord; it is because of such abhorrent practices that the Lord your God is driving them out before you. You must remain completely loyal to the Lord your God. Although these nations that you are about to dispossess do give heed to soothsayers and diviners, as for you, the Lord your God does not permit you to do so."
The night of October 31 is the holiest night of the year for Satan. It is this night that his tradition and customs have been carried out, sometimes by innocence and many times by those who have succumbed to his calling. This is the New Years Eve for the anti-Christ, the most sacred day for witches, the night when Satanists sacrifice babies.
"Abhor what is evil, cling to what is good" (Romans 12:9); "Abstain from every form of evil" (1Thessalonians 5:22), "Beloved do not imitate what is evil" (3 John 11). "Be imitators of Godlive as children of light. Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them" (Ephesians 5:1,8,11).
Through out the Holy Scripture, our Lord warns us about evil, about taking care of our children and against adopting the evil customs of the countries that we emigrate to.
Every single one of the activities that occur on Halloween is an imitation of the practices of those who are involved in evil and the occult. Trick or treat is a re-enactment of when the people went around gathering objects to contribute to the huge fire that was made to appease the God of Death; and when the objects were not given, there were mischievous tricks played on the people. The fruits and nuts were put out to appease the evil spirits; the carved out pumpkin ~ represents the human skull with a candle that witches would use to illuminate their path and homes. And then the most abhorrent of all ~the human sacrifices. In a world that has become so secularized, it has been easy for these pagan and occult customs to creep and permeate into all phases of society. Halloween is second to Christmas for the most favorite Holiday!
We as Christians must stand united and strong in the Lord. Halloween has become a multi-million dollar business; we must not allow our right of Religious freedom to be undermined by the anti-Christ. Children should not be sent to school on this day; Orthodox Christians who are employed at businesses who customarily dress up for this day, should express their Christian beliefs and refrain from dressing up and attending the parties. Unfortunately many parents, schools and churches of today try to compromise with their children and call their parties Fall Festivals, thinking that it is alright to dress their children in modern or biblical type costumes, and to hold non-Halloween parties; however this still is a celebration of Halloween. It is allowing Satan to destroy what is most precious in the eyes of the Lord ~ His children.
Parents must stand firm and strong, in teaching the children from the beginning ~ the truth and not wait until it is too late.
Our Orthodox Christian Churches should use this day as a day of prayer and thanksgiving to the Lord.
Children who are taught to love Jesus will understand that through this love, we will not do anything to do with celebrations that empower Gods enemies.
"See, I have taught you decrees and law as the Lord my God commanded me, so that you may follow them in the land you are entering to take possession of. Teach them to your children and to their children after them. Assemble the people before me to hear my words so that they may learn to revere me as long as they live in the land and may teach them to their children" (Deuteronomy 4:5-10).
Let us all walk as children of the Light; where the night and the day are all the same. The Lamb is the light of the city of God when He shines in our heart ~ Lord Jesus.
