All the Divine Liturgy books mention that "Pe Oik" is a hymn during communion for the weekdays' liturgies, while "Je efzmaro-out" is used on Sundays. What is the reason behind that?

The Divine Liturgy books that I have say that "Je efzmaro-out" is chanted in the fasts and in joyful days while "Pe Oik" in the annual days. This means that "Pe Oik" is chanted in all the annual common days including Saturdays and Sundays, but on the feasts and fasts we chanted "Je efzmaro-out" in the proper tune to be followed by the communion hymn (Madeeha) of the season.
