I have a girl in my Sunday School class who suffers from her father’s overprotection and strictness. Also she is kind of lonely since not many girls talk to her, what should I do?

If we love God, all that we do, must be done in love. This is particularly true of parenting. Children guidance must be done with love.

Our Lord Jesus Christ, did all that he had done in total love and compassion.
"When they had finished breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter, 'Simon son of John, do you love Me more than these?' He said to Him, 'Yes Lord; You know that I love you.' Jesus said to him, 'Feed My lambs" (John 21:15).
So must parents follow the footsteps of our Lord and discipline, and guide their children with affection. Sunday School teachers must remember to serve in love. If love is amiss in our endeavors, then well-intentioned guidance and parenting can become overwhelming and fruitless.

You have heard from the girl’s side concerning the way her parents treat her. However you do not know the parents’ viewpoint. The best thing is to refer both sides to Abouna. The girl should be encouraged to present her problem to abouna and allow abouna to assist her with her problems with her parents.

As her Sunday School servant you can promote friendship within her peer group at church. She  and another person can be selected to do a presentation together on their Sunday School lesson for an assembly in the future. Also, you can invite her to your home and two or three other young ladies for a Holy Bible Study the following week. This student may benefit  from friendship built through a study group  as well as an outside activity.
