My friend and I have been successfully serving together in church for the last three years. Unfortunately, my friend is moving to another city to work there. Why did God allow this when my friend and I have been doing a good job and reaping the fruit of our services?

A person serving others should constantly strive to live a life of submission to the Lord Jesus Christ.

There are many blessings to living a life of submission to the  will of God.. Fulfilling the will of God brings forth joy and peace that surpasses understanding. It also strengthens our faith. "And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose" (Romans 8:28).

The late Bishop Youanis of Gharbia said, "Perpetual joy with no grief nor agitation, complete peace without anxiety and fear: That is the result of the feeling that God's will be done."

The Psalmist said, "But let all those rejoice who put their trust in You; let them ever shout for joy, because You defend them; let those also who love Your name be joyful in You" (Psalm 5:11). Joy  is a fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22) and sadness is a fruit of sin.

Submission to the will to God, does not guarantee a road paved with roses and no difficulties or hardships.. Difficulties will serve only as a curve on  the road to a life of victory.

A person who lives a life of submission  while serving  must strive to attain  serenity.
Serenity is the feeling that God will bring only that, which is good and right. St. Paul said, "All things work together for good to those who love God" (Romans 8:28).

Those who truly love God and lead a life of submission, realize that God has a purpose for all things that encounter them in life.
