What options are there other than monasticism or consecrated service (i.e., Sisters or Deacons) for single men and women?

A person may remain celibate and live a chaste life. The orders of monasticism or consecration are not the only alternatives to marriage. People may not be suited to live under the strict orders of monasticism or be able to fulfill the duties required by a consecrated life of services. People who choose celibacy may live an independent but devout Christian life without submission to the customary formal governing rules of the communal life.
