The Church Rites for the Coptic Months of Tobe and Meshir
February 4, 2016
COLLEYVILLE, TX. February 4, 2016 -- The church commemorates the feasts of annunciation, nativity, and resurrection on the 29th day of every Coptic month except for Tobe and Meshir since these two months represents the two eras of the Law and Prophets.
So this Sunday, Tobe 29, will be following the rule of the 5th Sunday of the Coptic month. This means the hymns will be in the standard tune (NOT in the joyful tune) and the readings are the gospel of feeding the multitude which is from the 2nd Sunday of Meshir.
