Condolences & Prayers Offered for the Boston Marathon Terror Attack

April 16, 2013

COLLEYVILLE, TX. April 16, 2013 -- A message of condolences and prayers from H.G. Bishop Youssef regarding the Boston Marathon Terror Attack on April 15, 2013:

On behalf of the Coptic Orthodox Diocese of the Southern United States, I offer our deepest condolences to the families who have lost their loved ones in the senseless act of violence in Boston, Massachusetts, on April 15, 2013, at a traditional, athletic event intended to unite people of all nationalities. Our heartfelt thoughts and prayers are also with the many individuals who have been severely injured and the heroes of Boston-the law enforcement, medical personnel, and good citizens who selflessly hurried to the aide of others, many of whom were complete strangers to one another. We pray that the Lord will not allow the spirit of fear to rob the good people of Boston of innocence, fellowship, and security, but to fill their hearts with trust, hope, and peace.

"Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus" (Philippians 4:6-7).
