In the Revelation Book, we meditate and take the words as advice about the end of the world, yet God spoke only to the 7 churches of Asia giving them encouragement, promises, criticism, and sometimes threats. Why did He specify these churches only and did not address Jerusalem, Egypt, etc....?

The seven churches detailed in the holy Book of Revelation (Chapters 2 & 3) were strategically convenient to the spread of Christianity in the early years. Many of the apostles, including St. Paul, and some of the early church fathers lived and/or served in these regions. The locale is not as significant as the message. Each of the seven churches represents a state of spiritual existence that has negative and positive features. Christ is warning the churches, i.e., the assembly of the fellowship of believers and the clergy as the angel of the church, to be guarded regarding the condemnation against them and to repent of their inadequacies in order to be able to obtain the greater promise.
