Why did God tell Noah to bring two of each animal on the ark and not three or four?

For the sake of preserving the various animal species,  God asked Noah to take a male and female from each kind of the unclean animals. In order to have enough from the clean animals for sacrificing,  He asked him to take seven. Why not three or four, was because of limited space of the ark.
